when all's said and done, you have to remember that there are many people out there who have built astonishingly successful careers who never completed their degrees- two examples off the top of my head are Steve Jobs and Bill Gates (although Bill did get an honorary diploma from harvard, if I remember- well after he had written the famous and infamous windows). most of us probably know somebody who's built a successful career who never went to college, but simply didn't waste his/her time and built the skill set they needed to succeed.
